PORSCHES ON A FERRY IN HONOR OF FERRY PORSCHE
A GREAT TIME HAD BY ALL PUTTING OUR PORSCHES ON CAPE MAY/LEWES FERRY
Saturday, May 16th was the day our region showed in force to honor the Father of Porsches, Ferry Porsche, by putting our fine vehicles on a ferry! 10 cars drove down Delaware Route 1 through a misty drizzle to Lewes where we boarded the MV Cape Henlopen for the 80 minute ride across the mouth of the Delaware river to the resort town of Cape May, NJ.
There we were met by Bruce Menz, a Delaware region member who works in Cape May. Bruce photographed us disembarking the Ferry and led us to perfect place to park and walk to the outdoor Washington St. Mall where we enjoyed sunny weather, a nice lunch, and plenty of shopping. Thanks Bruce! Thanks also to Bruce Grassano for his fine photography of the event. For a complete look at all of both Bruce's photos from the tour click here.
The best of the pics have been submitted to Porsche Panorama for cover consideration so look for a photo from the tour to be appearing there soon. Finally, a big thanks to all who supported this event by participating alone or with their friends and family. We had a super time and hope more can join us for next year's tour!
