Executive Committee Meeting Minutes
January 19, 2010
The meeting began around 7:00 p.m. at the Clarion Hotel The Belle in New Castle, DE.
Attending Nick Dunlop, Scott Clabaugh, Mike Skorup, Mark Weining, Vince Crognale, A.K. Kissell, Dave Dabell, Bob Bloser, Yolanda Grassano, Bruce Grassano, Carl Thompson, Sam Dali, Tom Holmes, Anthony Guzzo, and John Reader.
Events The Executive Committee granted permission to the Holiday Committee to decide on a place for the Holiday Party.
Minutes The November minutes were approved.
Finance Bob gave us an update, we have $35,020.63 in the money market account and $1,555.62 in the checking account. With $631 in outstanding checks for a total of $36,868.13. Bob summarized expenses and income for the year and passed around an annual report and summary.
DE There was some concern expressed that we might have lost our DE at NJMP.
Events AK and Nick discussed an alternative place for the fall picnic. They would like it a catered event so everyone can enjoy it. The will look into Lums Pond, Hagley and the Sanger Bund and decide which is best.
CG Lock Nick will go ahead with placing ads for CG Lock in Panorama. All funds obtained through CG Lock will go to charity. Bob brought up a question about how this might affect our IRS status.
Braille Rally Scott talked about the upcoming Braille Rally, how it will be the 40th running and he wants to have T shirts and awards. He needs 20 Porsches with drivers. A budget of $1000 was approved.
Events Carl talked about the New Member Social. He will try to arrange something with Winner Porsche in February or March and give a write-up to Anthony for the newsletter.
Autocross Dave has dates chosen and will send them to Cris for the web site and Anthony for the newsletter.
March Meeting Vince and Bruce brought up the possibility that the tour to the Simeone museum could replace the March meeting. Mike will check with Terry about a club night at Overture.
Hershey Bruce will help Sam with a tour to the Hershey swap meet. Sam will lead the tour.
Social Events Yolanda talked about a possible light house tour in May possibly a 2-day event. She also mentioned a fall foliage tour as a possibility. She asked for suggestions, someone suggested a Porsche tractor hay ride.
Exec Meeting We will be moving back to Vince’s for Executive meetings. We started going to the Clarion to check it out as a possible club night meeting place. It’s fine for club night but rather expensive for Executive Committee meetings. Bruce will talk to Carl about the change.
Speakers Scott hasn’t heard back from Motor Week about getting John Davis to speak at club night but he did hear that Pat Goss get $5,000 for an event.
Newsletter Anthony went over a list of articles for the newsletter this month.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:04 p.m.
