                                        Executive Committee Meeting Minutes

                                                            April 22, 2010

 

President Bruce Grassano called the meeting to order at 6:59pm at Vince’s Office location in Greenville. John Reader’s absence was acknowledged  and best wishes for a speedy recovery were noted.

 

Attendance:  Bruce Grassano, Mark Weining, Bob Bloser, A.K. Kissell, Nick Dunlop, Paul Eves, Anthony Guzzo, Vince Crognale, Sam Dali, Carl Thompson, Scott Clabaugh and Dave DaBell.

 

Minutes:  The minutes were read and a correction was noted that the name of the location of the Wings and Wheels car show is the Air Mobility and Command Museum, not Dover Air Base Museum.  

 

Zone 2 Update:  Bruce Grassano:  The meeting of Zone 2 was held in West Virginia.  No one from National PCA was in attendance.  Bruce gave update on proposed new building.  Bruce was presented with a $3,000 check from National for DE club events.  It was noted that to run a track event at NJMP, is significantly more expensive, that other tracks.

 

Finance:  Bob Bloser:  Bob indicated, the process by which the Club does comply to IRS 1024, allowing the Club, as an organization, to be exempt from Federal Taxes is under way.  Initial application has been completed and this month the response to the IRS questions has been submitted.  We are awaiting approval.  Income this month was $5488.  Cash available in checking account is $3237 and amount in the money market was $23945.  Total funds available $27183.

 

Hershey Swap Meet:  Paul Eves:  Paul indicated he is not able to lead the run to Hershey due to work commitments.  Bruce will lead the group from Winner Porsche to Dutch Wonderland.  Bob Bloser will lead from Dutch Wonderland to Hershey.

 

Braille Rally: Scott Clabaugh:  The rally is all set to go for Sunday, April 25, rain or shine.  T-shirts were donated by Winner Porsche.  The expenses noted were $325 from a Club donation, Winner $484 and National $350.  Total cost of the rally will be $1200.  Scott said he has 18 drivers and navigators.  Concerned was express by Scott on the level of interest the Club has to continue to support this Braille Rally.  A discussion followed.

 

Cape May Run:  Paul Eves:  The event will take place on Sunday, May 2.  Paul has contacted the Cape May Winery and has made reservations for 20 people.  The run will continue on to the vineyard.  The PCA insurance must include all portions of the group driving event.  Those planning to attend will meet at Winner Porsche at 7:00am and leave at 7:15 am  The ferry leaves at 9:15am.

 

Hagley Picnic:  Nick Dunlop:  The date of the picnic is Sept. 26.  Nick indicated all is going well and he is looking into a band for entertainment and background music.

 

 

Holiday Party:  Vince Crognale:  Vince is working on it.  It will be held at the Mendenhall Inn’s Grand Ballroom on Dec. 12.  The same entertainment will be contracted, if available, Billy Fries, with some reservations and concerned that were expressed.

 

European Trip:  Nick Dunlop:  Nick indicated that all is going well with the planning of the trip to Germany and the Porsche Museum.

 

AutoCross:  Dave Dabell:  Dave said that last week they had 39 cars participate in the AutoCross event, with 10 cars being Porsches.  $350 profit from the event was realized.  Dave suggested a travel bag for the PA system be purchased from club funds .  Funds were approved for the purchase.

 

Non-Club Events:  A.K. Kissell:  A.K. reported on several car show and car events in the area, including the German vehicle display on June 12 at the Sagerbund in Newark,  Cruise night on May 20 in Nottingham, PA and Newark Night on June 5.

 

Charity Event:  Carl Thompson:  Carl mentioned the Red Robin Rocks for Kids to benefit the Ronald McDonald House.  The even is to be held at the Brandywine Town Center on Wed. Aug. 4.  There would be a cost to each member to display their car that would be considered a charity donation.

 

Club Web Store:  Mark Weining:  The Spring Sale for the web store will end at the end of the month, April 30.  Until then club members will enjoy a 10% discount on their purchases.

 

Newsletter:  Anthony Guzzo; Anthony went over a list of articles for the newsletter this month.

 

The meeting came to an end at approximately 8:45pm.
