Executive Committee Meeting Minutes
July 21, 2009
The meeting began at 7:08 p.m. at the Clarion Hotel The Belle in New Castle, DE.
Attending Anthony Guzzo, Meghan Hannum, Carl Thompson, Eric Andes, Mark Weining, Sam Dali, Dave Dabell, Nick Dunlop, and John Reader.
Minutes The minutes from June were approved.
Finance Bob was out of town, no report.
New Member Social Nick will bring several copies of newsletters and a laptop to show the photos of our cars on flicker to the new members. Alex has 100 postcard invitations that he can send to new members. Carl will bring sign up sheets for events. We all look forward to working with Brett Denver the general manager of Winner.
Polo Everything is ready for the match except the web site. The polo club will receive $500 plus $5 for each car.
Welcome Home the Troops Car Show We need to get the information that was published in the newsletter and put it up on the web site.
October DE Nick gave us an update. There was a conference call a week ago with the rest of the event committee. The budget looks good even without Winner and if they participate that will be even better. 45-50 people have signed up and paid. We are looking for instructors from other clubs. Messages will be sent to the chief instructors and track chairs. Eric brought up Face Book as a place to publish the events and volunteered to get it started. Nick will send in the insurance payment in August.
Events Five up-coming events were discussed:
- New Member Social
- Welcome Home the Troops Car Show
- Autocross
- Fall picnic
- Holiday Party
Newsletter Articles were discussed for the next newsletter including; polo, the New Member Social, the fall picnic and crab fest at Tom’s, the Deutsche Classic, and Wings and Wheels.
Other Business
Club Night The first club night meeting at the Clarion was discussed. Everything went well except for a few problems with meal ordering and delivery. We decided to try either having members select a meal on the sign-up sheet or have the wait-staff take orders earlier.
50th Logo Nick displayed all of the logo entries and asked everyone to pick their three favorites. The overall favorites were Meghan’s, Scott’s, and three very similar ones with a numeric five and the present club logo as a zero and some words. Nick suggested that we find a graphic designer to combine the winners.
Finance There was a question about the need for an audit of the last few years records. Bruce will check.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:03 p.m.
