Minutes of Exec Meeting October 28th 2008
Attendees: Will Pyle, Scott McKeown, Vince Grognale, Anthony Guzzo, Jane Fox, Tom Holmes, Mike Skorup, Alex Witham,Stover Babcock, Eric Andes, Carl Thompson, BobBloser, Mark Weining, Bruce Grassano, Jon Walton & Nick Dunlop.
DE Summary
1st and main topic of the meeting was discussion regarding the first DE that our region had run. Recognition of Stover's efforts in attracting members from Zone 1 and 2 to make this event the largest PCA DE at NJMP this year. Stover submitted an excellent summary of the event, and feedback received to date from PCA exec's and particpants.
Lots of discussion as to why we attracted the people and how could we achieve the same level of attendance for subsequent years. General view was that we should seriously consider this to be an annual event, and how we can we minimize the financial risk. Winner Porsche, represented by Alex, felt the event was very positive and would be supportive of future events. Winner sponsorship allowed the DE to have a commemorative shirt and an excellent event dinner.
Some observations noted
1. Track out at the 1st corner has the potential to be a danger area, and it was thought that NJMP may need to man this location for future events.
2. As a region we should have a "Emergency and Incident Plan" in place that is understood by key people and would be put into place if required.
3. Insurance sign off - generally this was good except that several visitors to NJMP came onto the Thunderbolt area and did not sign waiver forms (no signage stating this requirement was available)
The exec team wished to thank everyone who attended the event, and obviously Winner for their commitment in bringing staff and fantastic cars for entrants to enjoy.
Stover's report (page 1) should be available as an attachment to these minutes
Picnic Summary
The event proved yet again to be successful, bringing nearly 50 members out in some 22 Porsches . A full report is up on the website. Mark Weining won the top award, presentation will take place at the Holiday party.
Holiday Party
This is how we traditionally close out the year of events, slow take up or at least very few sign ups at this time - we are in the larger ballroom, so Bruce stressed the need for members to sign up ASAP. There will be no gift exchange this year which will allow for more socializing during the evening. BE THERE.....
Enthusiast Day (AKA Dyno Day)
Jon Walton is organizing another excellent event where all fees go towards the regions chosen charities. Dyno pulls, Dent Removal, Powder coating and F1 qualifying should ensure a few petrolheads attend.
AOB

Discussion regarding website links to commercial organisations - agreement that newseltter advertisers will have link to their website posted on delawarepca.org
Club Night Jan /Feb / March location need to be arranged. Agreement that Winner location could be used for a new members meeting during the period January / February - Carl, Nick and Alex to action
