Executive Committee Meeting Minutes

November 18, 2008

 

Meeting began at 6:55 p.m. in Greenville, DE

Attendants:  Nick Dunlop, Dave DaBell, Liz Reid, A.K. Kissell, Jane Fox, Mark Weining,

                      Vince Crognale, Bob Bloser, Stover Babcock, Bruce Grassano, Paul Eves, Carl

                       Thompson, Anthony Guzzo, and Sam Dali.

                

Holiday Party:

                         We only have 20 people signed up. Bruce to get membership list from Carl and 

                         will start making phone calls to stir up interest. Manny and Vu from PCA national

                         should be invited. We may have a Micropore table and a Winner table. Bruce

                         will have a slide show going for entertainment.

 

Toy Drive:       It has been proposed that out of approximately $2,000, we are to save $600 for

                         next year’s toy drive given the shaky economy. How exactly the rest of the money

                         will be spent this year is up to Jon Walton’s discretion with some suggestions

                         from the board. The Toy Drive itself will be on Saturday, December 13 starting

                         with an informal breakfast followed by a tour to the Boys and Girls Club in

                         Wilmington where the party there will be from 12-3.

 

Year-End Awards:  $350 has been the proposed budget for these awards. Driver of the Year         

                          award will have a refurbished base.

 

2009 Events:  To be planned at the next Executive Meeting on December 16.

 

Delaware Region’s 50^th Anniversary:     Proposed start – Holiday Party December 2009

                        2010 events sample – Group trip to Germany with visits at Porsche of course,

                        Mercedes museum, Nürnberg Ring; 2010 calendar made by Nick where each

                        day will be a historical or current piece of information; a big crab feast/concours at

                        a locale like a country club, Winterthur, Hagley, or Brantwyn.

 

January & February General Meetings:   Tentaive: Saturday, January 17, 2009 at Simeone

                       Museum by Philadelphia Airport. February at Overture, Deerfield C.C., or Mid

                       Atlantic Grand Prix.

 

PA System:   Bruce and Eric Andes to check into getting 1 or 2 portable PA sytems with possible

                       battery operation for a total of $150 or so. May even try to get them in the next 2

                       weeks.

 

Treasury:    Transition from Stover to Bob Bloser. Bruce to get the audit info to both of them.

                     Bob will use Quicken and move to Wachovia where he will get 2 credit cards for

                     club use.
