Executive Committee Meeting Minutes

July 22, 2008

 

Meeting began at 6:50 p.m. in Greenville, DE

Attendants:  Nick Dunlop, Bruce Grassano, Liz Reid, A.K. Kissell, Anthony Guzzo, Jane Fox,

                      Vince Crognale, Bob Bloser, Paul Eves, Stover Babcock, Eric Andes, Sam Dali, 

                      and Carl Thompson.

                

Thunderbolt DE:

                         Registration opened on July 9, and we are more than 1/3 full with a nice mix of

                         Instructors and students. This event will be Delaware Region’s sole respon-

                        sibility. Our slogan is “Feel the  Thunder.”

                        We are de-emphasizing that this is our first event. We are listed on Rennlist,

                          Trackschedule.com, our website, and will be in Panorama in September.

                        All Zone 1 & 2 Presidents and newsletter editors have been told of out DE event

                          so they can publicize it.

                       An Observer’s Report must be filled out. We need volunteers for Friday & Sat-

                         day registration. Track time will be ~ 8:30 a.m.- 5:30 p.m. There will be a lunch

                         break each day for the workers during which time we are trying to set up “charity

                         laps.”

                         Winner Porsche will be the primary sponsor for this event and will be providing

                         shirts, Saturday night’s banquet, and a drawing for test drives of the ’09 911s that

                         they will be bringing to the track. They are also providing substantial incentives

                         for their customers who sign up for the event, and they are providing free Tech

                         Inspections for all entrants.

              

Banners & Flags:  Nick has 2 metal sign holders with a cardboard sign with our logo. This can

                                be placed into the ground. He also will get small metal poles with 2 holders

                                for 8.5 x 11 sheets. Banners with our logo on a white background will be

                                made.

 

Note to be made that A. K. has files with all of our forms for insurance, etc. from events should we ever need them.       Meeting adjourned at 8:20 p.m.
