Delaware PCA Exec Meeting Notes – October 16, 2006
Attending
Mark Weining, Bob Bloser, Carl Thompson, Nick Dunlop, AK, and Anthony Guzzo, Doug Nickel, Jon Walton - via audio conference – Stover Babcock, Jane Fox and Scott .
Membership Report – Carl Thompson reported we have added 50 new members in 2005 and 30 additional in 2006. In planning for the Nov 4th new member social it was agreed to invite all these members. Carl will prepare postcards and distribute. The event will be from 10 AM until 2PM.
Upcoming Events
Alderman Tour – Saturday 10 – 2.
Speakers – future meetings – None planned at this time.
Elections
Slate is – Mark Weining – President
Nick Dunlop – Vice President
Stover Babcock – Treasurer
No candidate for Secretary at this time.
Bob Bloser will prepare an absentee ballot for inclusion in the newsletter.
Meeting Location – We will continue to look for other opportunities.
Upcoming Events
- Newsletter – Deadline – October 22 – Content was reviewed and responsibilities assigned.
- Holiday Party – Nick will stay with the $35 charge. Plans in place. Will review budget with Stover.
- Gifts for Holiday party – Bob will check with Sports Car Tire- Doug reported no success getting a contribution from Steve Timmins (Instant-G). Mark is working on the awards and requests any suggestion for the Family – Enthusiast, Vendor, Broken Wheel, Driver.
- Toy Drive – Jon reported all set for Dec 16. Still needs to finalize funding from Winner and PCNA. Santa has been arranged. Jon not sure which Club location will be used this year, but promised adequate parking. Invited all to participate.
- Proposal was made and approved to send a contribution of $200 to support the Amish community fund that has been set up to assist the families and victims of the recent school tragedy.
- Club survey. Mark is putting together plans for a survey of the club membership and requests any ideas anyone might have. Jon, Stover, Carl and AK agreed to participate in the planning.
- Next Exec Mtg – Nov 20 (adjusted).
- December 19 – 7PM year end planning meeting – Plan to attend in lieu of any holiday parties or preparations for the holidays.
- Spring HPDE – No reservations being taken by Summit yet.
- Zone 2 event at VIR – Doug will check with Jim Becker to confirm our involvement.
Financials –
Stover reported $5434 checking
5,000 CD due 12 Nov will be rolled over three more months
7,500 CD due 5 Dec will be rolled over three more months
5,000 CD will mature in May, 2007
