Delaware PCA Exec Meeting Notes – May 23, 2006

Mark Weining, Bob Bloser, Nick Dunlop, and Carl Thompson.
New Member Social – Carl reported the event held at Winner was very successful and 14 new member attended.
Dyno Days – Proceeds were $850 which will be set aside for the toy fund for the Boys and Girls Club. Additionally Jim Becker (Zone 2) has committed an additional $300 for the toy fund.
Summer Picnic – Nick reported we have 36 people signed up and will plan for 60 persons attending. Mike has provided information on existing inventory and Nick will plan to make the necessary run to Cosco. Stover has agreed to assist with the event and Carl and Bob agreed to arrive early (10 – 10:30) to assist with setup. Carl will contact Rex to pick up some beer. Those able to carry some ice are ask to. Side dishes are requested from last names A-L and desserts from M-Z.
Crab Fest and Concurs - Nick still looking at Sept. 23. Will re-check with Tom McKenna.
AK – German show – Scheduled for June 10. A reminder.
Newark Night – June 3 – Informal car show – A Reminder. (Give California Tortilla a try).
Newark AutoFest – August 5 & 6. – Will discuss in the June Member meeting to see if there is interest in showing cars as a group.
June Meeting – George Alderman is lined up as a guest speaker. Having the meeting at his location was discussed – It was decided to stay with Matildas and plan a later meeting at his facility. Mark will discuss with Scott.
Southern Gathering – July 15 – Dover Air Force Base. Mark will ask Chip to attend the June or July Meeting to talk up the event. Chip has made arrangements with the Hot Rod club to permit a parking area. The plan is to arrive relatively early to acquire a shady spot under one of the wings. Carl agreed to manage a drive to Dover.
Chip is also hosting a party at his house the following weekend (not a PCA event).
Future meeting locations – Hockessen Fire Hall was discussed – Bob will check with Anthony.
Fall HPDC – No dates have seemed to work. Doug, Tim Costa (Chesapeake) and Miriam have discussed and have agreed to pass on the event for this fall. Preliminary cost numbers have been assembled and should a date come available, it may be re-considered.
Zippo Vintage Event at Watkins Glen – Sept 8,9 & 10. Sign up available in mid June for the various activities. Vince has 10 rooms reserved and Mark thought there might be three or four still available. Contact Vince. As the event approaches, a tour may be put together.
Mike Fox – overnight tour – no update on possible multi-day tour. Earlier discussions indicated interest down through the Skyline Drive.
Newsletter – Anthony and Jane rolling with this responsibility. Decision has been made to go with Microsoft Publisher. Anthony will purchase a copy – Jane already has a copy. Jane has asked for all articles to be in by 5/28. (Picnic, New Member Social, Dyno Day, Mid-Ohio, Tour to Picnic).
Ads – Sports Car Tire and Fairwinds have paid. Winner invoice being delivered next week.
ByLaws – Mark requested trying to find a copy of the bylaws for posting on the website. Additionally, he would like the Exec Meeting notes posted on the Website.
